Whilst every effort will be made to ensure that the Olympics are conducted safely, accidents do happen. The Village Olympics Committee has given careful consideration to the question of insurance cover and the following arrangements have been made. LEGAL LIABILITY Public Liability Insurance has been arranged by organising committee - up to five million pounds on any one accident. This policy will indemnify the organisers against claims arising from accidents for which they are legally liable, that is where there has been negligence on the part of the organisers. PERSONAL ACCIDENT There are, of course, accidents where no-one
is to blame. Whilst this is an area where we
feel each must form its own view as to insurance, we have arranged the following
basic cover for the benefit of all registered
partici-pants taking part in organised events It is, of course, possible for you to purchase additional cover for your children, privately,
by contacting your usual insurance advisor. Please note: Saddleworth Village Olympics have a Child Protection Policy. It is the duty of all parents, legal guardians or carers to ensure that the children in their charge are not left unattended at all organised events. Only competitors are covered by our insurance policy. |
