Whilst every effort will be made to ensure that the Olympics are conducted safely, accidents can happen. The Village Olympics Committee has given careful consideration to the question of insurance cover and the following arrangements have been made.
LEGAL LIABILITY
Public Liability Insurance has been arranged by the organising committee—up to one million pounds on any one accident. This policy will indemnify the organisers against claims arising from accidents for which they are legally liable, that is, where there has been negligence on the part of the organisers.
PERSONAL ACCIDENT
There are, of course, accidents where no-one is to blame. Whilst this is an area where we feel each must form their own view as to insurance, we have arranged the following basic cover for the benefit of all registered participants taking past in organised events and training sessions:
- Death: £2,500
- Loss of one or more eyes: £5,000
- Permanent total disfigurement from
gainful occupation of any kind: £5,000
It is, of course, possible for you to purchase additional cover for your children, privately, by contacting your usual insurance advisor.
