AGE GROUPS
Juniors 7 – 9yrs 10 – 11yrs
Seniors 12 – 14yrs 15 – 17yrs
FORMAT
- Girls singles, boys singles, girls doubles, boys doubles in each of the 4 age groups.
- Preliminary round robin consisting of 2 groups (1 of 3, 1 of 4), semi final, final and 3rd/4th play off. If 5 or less teams or individuals per age group, the competition will be a full round robin.
- In each group winners will be decided by the number of games won – 1 point awarded for each game won.
- Points for and against may be counted to ensure that the true winners proceed to the next round. If match points are equal the player/team who scored most game points will win. If these are equal, the player/team who conceded fewest points will win. If the above are equal, the winner of the match between the 2 will be the winner.
RULES – JUNIORS
- The group matches and semi – finals will be played up to 7 points and the final and 3rd/4th play off will be played to 11points.
- The 2 teams or individuals who have won in the groups will progress to the semi finals. In the event of a tie the above mentioned rule will apply.
- The winners of group A will play the runner up in Group B and vice versa.
- The organisers reserve the right to alter the draw if necessary
RULES – SENIORS
- The group matches and semi finals will be played up to11 points and the final and 3rd/4th play off will be played to 15 points.
- The 2 teams or individuals who have won in the groups will progress to the semi finals. In the event of a tie, the above mentioned rule will apply.
- The winner of Group A will play the runner up of Group B and vice versa.
- In the finals and 3rd/4th play off, if the players tie at 14 all, setting will be allowed up to 3 points.
ORDER OF PLAY
- Number of teams/individuals allowed per age group is 1. The draw will take place prior to the competition and teams will only be accepted by the organisers in advance of the draw deadline.
WARNING
- Foul and abusive language will not be tolerated and may result in a player being dismissed from the game and tournament.
- Spectators should not coach from the side lines and intimidation of officials is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
