  • Competitors may compete in one age group only per event, either their own age group or higher at the discretion of the event organiser. Juniors must not compete in senior events.

COMPETITOR ELIGIBILITY

  • Senior competitors must reside in Saddleworth as defined by the old West Riding boundaries. Senior age groups must reside in the village they represent as defined by the postal address. However, competitors who have represented a village according to junior school attendance may, at the discretion of the rules committee, be allowed to compete for that village. Once they have chosen to represent a particular village they must continue to compete for that village throughout the senior age group.
  • Junior competitors must reside in the village they represent as defined by the postal address, although in special cases and at the discretion of the rules committee, junior school attendance, including children from outside the Saddleworth District ,may be included.

  • Event rules are generally as laid down by the governing bodies of each individual sport and as interpreted by the event organisers and match officials, whose decision is final
  • Unsporting behaviour is not in the spirit of the Saddleworth Village Olympics. Any team or individual deemed to be infringing the rules of competition may render the entire squad liable to disqualification
  • For insurance purposes, it is important that all competitors must be registered before taking part in any training sessions or the events proper.
  • Foul and abusive language will not be tolerated and may result in competitors being dismissed from the event and tournament.
  • Spectators must not coach from the side lines and intimidation of officials is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
  • Senior competitors are encouraged to further their involvement in the Games by umpiring/refereeing junior events, however the Committee have decided that they should be of 15yrs of age minimum with the exception of Cricket and Rounders when 14yrs of age is acceptable with the accompaniment of an adult.
