AGE GROUPS
                       Junior      7 – 9yrs           10 – 11yrs
                      Seniors    12 – 14yrs        15 – 17yrs

TEAM SIZE
7 players from a previously named squad. Names of all players to be handed in 15 minutes before tournament commences.

FORMAT

  • The junior tournament will be played in accordance with the former Oldham Junior Schools rules, not Hi 5. Seniors with the A.E.N.A. rules.
  • All age groups will play either a round robin, or two leagues with the winners of group 1 meeting the runners up of group 2and the winners of group 2 meeting the runners up of group 1 for the semi finals, followed by a final and 3rd and 4th play off.
  • 7 – 9yrs. Start time 9am, Saturday
  • 10 – 11yrs. Approx start time 10.30am, Saturday
  • 15 – 17yrs. Start time 9am, Sunday
  • 12 – 14yrs. Approx start time 10.30am, Sunday.
  •  RULES
    • All teams must be ready to play at the time stated and with not less than 5 players on court. Any team late on court will forfeit the points to the team present at the correct time.
    • A reserve playing because of the late arrival of a player shall continue to play in that position until a goal is scored.

 

    • Match duration will be decided prior to the draw and will be dependant on the number of teams taking part. The organisers reserve the right to change the duration, should any unforeseen circumstances arise.
    • Central timing for the commencement of games will be by bell, although each game will start and finish at the umpire whistle.

 

    • In the event of a draw at the semi final/final stage, the results will be decided by extra time. If after extra time it remains a draw, the whistle will sound and teams will play on until next goal is scored. Goal scoring team will be deemed winners.
    • Scoring as follows
      • Win – 5 points
      • Draw – 3 points
    • Losing teams score 1 point if scoring 50% of the winning teams score. In the event of a draw on points, results will be decided on goal difference. If this is still tied, positions will be decided on goals scored.

    • Umpires must check that score cards are correct and sign on reverse.
    • Each team must provide bibs, wear correct footwear and no jewellery to be worn on court.
    • In the event of inclement weather, where the courts become too dangerous to play, a “Shoot Out “, will take place. Each team will then take 14 shots at the goal- 2 shots per team member. Should a squad contain less than 7 members, shooting order will be chosen randomly by the umpire, then, after each has had 2 shots, each player will have an additional shot until 14 have been taken. This will be played as above with semis and finals as appropriate.

 

    • Post heights 7/9 years 8 feet

                      10/11 years 9 feet
                      12/14 15/17 10 feet

ORDER OF PLAY
The number of teams allowed per age group is 2.
The draw will take place prior to the day of competition and teams will only be accepted by the organisers in advance of the draw deadline.

WARNING
Foul and abusive language will not be tolerated and may result in a player or players being dismissed from the tournament. Spectators should not coach from the side lines and intimidation of officials will not be tolerated.
