Safeguarding Policy Statement

Saddleworth Village Games is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people involved in our activities. We believe that every child, regardless of age, disability, gender, racial heritage, religious belief, sexual orientation, or identity, has the right to protection from all forms of harm and abuse.
 

We recognise our responsibility to protect and safeguard the welfare of children and young people by creating a safe and positive environment where they can enjoy participating in sport and physical activity.
 

Our Commitments

  • To prioritise the welfare of children and young people at all times.

  • To implement robust safeguarding policies and procedures that reflect statutory responsibilities, government guidance, and best practice.

  • To recruit staff and volunteers safely, ensuring all necessary checks are made.

  • To provide effective management for staff and volunteers through supervision, support, and training.

  • To respond swiftly, appropriately, and transparently to all concerns or allegations of abuse.

  • To work in partnership with children, parents, carers, and external agencies to promote young people’s welfare.

  • To ensure all staff, coaches, and volunteers understand their responsibilities in safeguarding and know how to act if they have concerns.
     

Scope

This policy applies to all staff, coaches, trustees, volunteers, contractors, and anyone working on behalf of Saddleworth village Games.
